Triton Digital Issues September 2023 U.S. Podcast Ranker

Triton Digital has released its September 2023 (September 4-October 1), U.S. Podcast Ranker. For the month of September downloads dropped 3.1% compared to August. SiriusXM Podcast Network remained in the #1 spot on the Top Sales Networks Report for the month of September, with 51.5 million Average Weekly Downloads and 14 million Average Weekly Users. Wondery came in again at #2 with 34.6 million AWDs and 8.4 million AWUs, followed by Audacy Podcast Network at #3 with 23.5 million AWDs and 6.4 million AWUs.

NPR is temporarily excluded from the rankers this month due to a planned data collection migration. They will return to the rankers once the migration is complete.

For this reporting period, the top three podcasts based on downloads included Dateline NBC (NBCUniversal News Group) at #1, Crime Junkie (audiochuck) again at #2 and Morbid (Wondery) at #3.

For listeners, the top three podcasts included Crime Junkie (audiochuck) again at #1, Dateline NBC (NBCUniversal News Group) again at #2 and Morbid (Wondery) at #3.

There were several debuts in the month of September for downloads including The Rich Eisen Show (Cumulus Podcast Network), Dave & Chuck the Freak: Full Show (Beasley Media Group), 5 Things (Wondery), Lovett or Leave It (SiriusXM Podcast Network) and others.

Triton also saw several debuts for listeners including Exposed: Cover-Up at Columbia University (Wondery), The Broski Report with Brittany Broski (Audioboom), Big Little Feelings: After Bedtime (Audacy Podcast Network) and TigerBelly (All Things Comedy).

Murder in Apartment 12 (NBCUniversal News Group) and Deadline: White House (NBCUniversal News Group) debuted for both downloads and listeners.
